About the event
Emerging WAAPA jazz double bassist Jayden Jooste brings his quintet to Ambassador Bar for an evening of bebop and modal jazz, blending classic repertoire with a fresh, modern approach.
Joined by Billy Hinde on tenor saxophone, Emily Scully on trombone, Ted Tudor on piano, and Daniel Farquharson on drums, the quintet moves effortlessly from slow, expressive ballads to fast-paced, high-energy arrangements.
Drawing inspiration from jazz greats including John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk, Jayden and the quintet celebrate the sounds of bebop and modal jazz while bringing their own contemporary character to the music.
