This performance is not just a showcase of talent, but a heartfelt reflection on her transformative journey over the past four years at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). As Ella takes the stage, she will weave together stories and melodies that have shaped her artistic identity, offering a unique glimpse into her growth as a musician.
With a background in musical theatre, Ella loves to honour the Great American Songbook in her repertoire with songs such as "Anything Goes", and "Lullaby of Birdland". She takes great inspiration from iconic jazz singers such as Billie Holiday and contemporary jazz singers such as Cécile McLorin Salvant. Ella has a voice that has been described as "nostalgic" and "sweet", and will be performing her favourite jazz standards with a hint of theatrical flair.
